SWARM TRAPS AND BAIT HIVES
Swarming is the honey bee’s method of colony reproduction. The old queen and about half of the worker bees leave their former nest and seek a new home. This can happen anytime from April to September in the UK.
You can set up a swarm trap in your garden in order to attract a swarm of honey bees. It's best to get your traps set up early in the season to stand the best chance of catching a prime swarm of bees.
We provide a low budget, swarm trap kit with all of the key components to help you attract a swarm of honey bees into your bait hive/swarm trap.
You just add plywood or a new/used beehive in order to complete the kit.
