About Us
Built on Family Partnerships
Black Mountain Honey isn't a faceless operation. We're built on multiple family units working together:
- Laurence and Helen - The couple who run the business. Laurence focuses on beekeeping operations while Helen handles everything else.
- Richard and Ben Stevens - A father-son team producing our nucleus colonies, with over 30 years of Richard's breeding experience and 75 years of combined family knowledge.
- Chrissy and Zayne - Chrissy is our customer service manager and HiveQ Community manager. Zayne handles videography, photography, drone work, and pretty much everything else tech-wise.
These aren't rotating suppliers. They're people we call friends and work with day in, day out. We've worked with the same trusted partners year after year - handpicked for reliability, quality, and shared values.

DASH (Disease Assurance Scheme for Honeybees) is a professional certification developed by the National Bee Unit and Bee Farmers' Association. It demonstrates our commitment to bee health, disease management, and responsible colony care. Not every supplier has it. We do.
We're also proud members of the Bee Farmers Association - the representative body for commercial beekeepers in the UK.
