Excellent service. As a new Beekeeper this year, I bought four nucleus colonies from three different suppliers. The nuc from Black Mountain Honey was by far the best of the four in terms of overall quality in my opinion. They are calm well behaved prolific laying bees that are a delight to inspect, which is also easy to do as all the frames are pretty new and in good condition making them easy to manipulate and assess. I would highly recommend them to new beekeepers. I have had two queens from Laurence at BMH too which have reinforced the quality of the service. Keep up the good work Laurence

I can't recommend Black Mountain Honey highly enough. You not only get a super healthy nuc with brand new frames (which is unusual), but access to Laurence's wealth of experience. He's super patient and responds promptly. I've decided to go it alone on my Flow hives journey. Laurence has experience of all types of hive and provide helpful and practical guidance when I hit a road block. Having tried other places I will only ever buy my nucs and queens from BMH. There's a reason they sell out of overwintered nucs so quickly!

I was unable to accept delivery of my nuc on the scheduled date and had to change delivery at fairly short notice . Laurence could not have been more helpful in setting up a new delivery date for me. The customer service at Black Mountain is second to none as is the after sales support. The instructions for setting up the Nuc were detailed and easy to follow , and the bees were wonderfully calm to handle . The NUC arrived exactly on time as notified and the whole process totally stress free. Communication with the company excellent. We started beekeeping this year , to hedge our bets, we placed orders at several places including eBay, local bees, Facebook, , I can assure you, the bees that come from black mountain, are the biggest nucs, most filled out frames, and in beautiful hard wearing poly boxes. It’s a huge amount of bees, We went on to buy a second nuc from here, same brilliant bees, just in great shape, by far the biggest and strongest colonies we have. This, along with the videos online, and the livestreams, we have learned so much.

BMH does is fantastic. Lots of advice to back up the excellent quality nucs they provide. Well worth subscribing to the youtube channel also as this is full of useful information.
After 24 hours from receiving the nuc in the post I transferred to their final home and within less than an hour bees are returning with lots of pollen. It has to be said that my bees are the best looking and best behaved in the world but I guess every bee parent thinks the same. It's only true though when they are BMH bees ;-)

I have purchased 2 buckfast mated queens and 2 nucs of bees in the last few weeks. Both Queens were accepted and are laying really well. Nucs received with lots of bees and BIAS ,now in a full hive and expanding well. Will be buying more Queens soon. Excellent service.

They have been an absolute joy to work with since and are very docile when compared to hives at my local club. The queen has been laying brilliantly in absolute textbook fashion, with the colony continuously going from strength to strength. The queen also arrived clearly pre-marked which was a welcome and pleasant surprise that has made finding her an absolute doddle during inspections.

This is my first hive but my mum has kept bees for the last 30 years so I’m kind of used to them. These are really super chilled, not that I’m recommending this but I can happily carry out inspections and manipulations using a smoker but no other gear. They have gone from the 6 frame nuc to two deeps over in 6 weeks and seem to be really healthy. The whole experience of dealing with black mountain honey was really good and I can highly recommend them. I will definitely be buying another nuc come the spring

I bought a 6 frame national nuc in June 2024 and I have a crop of honey already. Laurence has been amazing lots of communication when the nuc was due to be delivered. They arrived in tip top condition. And after I received my nuc I've had asked lots of questions to Laurence and he answered them all. I can't recommend black Mountain honey enough if you want good genetics in your bees.

Worth every penny, I'm not tight I'm cash conscious so for me to pay a small monthly subscription and keep paying it I must feel it's value for money. If I ask a question, it's answered personally in mins. And the videos are so on time for what you should be doing and when you never miss a trick. Also a great reminder to add treatment or remove. My advice is just try it for 3 months and make up your own mind.

Love the early access, it means the content is relevant to the time of year. I watched lots of Laurence's videos before starting bee keeping this year. I felt so much more confident with the back up of the videos. The membership is a fairly new thing for me, i wish I'd done it sooner! Love the short reminders from the car, and the behind the scenes content. When I first started keeping bees Laurence was one of the first people I watched on YouTube. Like many of us he has become my unofficial mentor through the reels and advice he gives out. The channel VIP channel membership is timely, giving the tutorials on what you need to be doing now, valuable, especially to anyone new to beekeeping, practical and above all easy to understand with fantastic close ups of any manipulation being explained

I have found being a channel member really beneficial. I like the ability to get videos early, particularly as beekeeping is all about timing! I particularly like the long form ‘rambling’ style videos Laurence does from his car, which feels like you are just having a natter with a pal with the same hobby. The exclusive videos are great too, as a beekeeper who has been at it a couple of years, there are occasions where you want to ask a question that you probably should know the answer to but are embarrassed to and Laurence usually has you covered. Its also nice just to be able to give a little back for all the useful content over the years. Would thoroughly recommend becoming a member!
